Australia cricket legend Andrew Symonds dies, aged 46

The cricket world is mourning the sudden death of Australian great Andrew Symonds, who has been tragically killed in a car accident.

Symonds, 46, was reportedly involved in a single-vehicle crash after his car left the road and rolled near Hervey Range, around 50 kilometres from Townsville, on Saturday night.

Emergency services tried to revive Symonds, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, however, he died of his injuries, police confirmed.

Symonds represented Australia in 26 Tests, 198 one-day internationals and 14 Twenty20 internationals before retiring in 2012.
