After clearing SATs in tandem with his CBSE preparation. Rahil worked countless hours writing and perfecting his personal statement for colleges in the US. His application was evaluated not only on academic merit but also on extracurricular activities. After spending a year on the process, he was finally rewarded with offers from top universities in the United States. As he prepares for his next academic phase, Rahil expresses deep gratitude towards the entire DPS Budgam community that helped him achieve this milestone. Indeed, his goal is to train as a computer scientist and give back to his school, and village by mentoring more students to pursue opportunities overseas. Rahil writes, “The school helped me with all of the documents needed to be submitted including transcripts, recommendation letters and regular time to time guidance and counselling. Even though the pandemic made it difficult for me to visit school. The school ensured that everything was submitted on time.”
Sakhra says, “My heart skipped a beat when I got the acceptance letter. It still feels so unbelievable. The journey for me started last November when I thought about the possibility of applying abroad. The process seemed so daunting. I had no idea about where and how to begin. But online research and talking to my teachers came handy to me. I just want to say a big thank you to all the people who believed in me and helped me along the way. The Georgetown University in Qatar offers a number of financial aid options for qualified students and I am fortunate enough to get the opportunity.”
The School Management, the Principal, Ms Shobhna Sirohi and the entire teaching fraternity of DPS Budgam Congratulated the students on their outstanding achievement.
