Western Disturbance to affect Jammu and Kashmir from today afternoon

Precipitation Forecast: 
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are expected at many places of Jammu and Kashmir between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday morning.
Its main activity will be over north Kashmir parts.
Light snowfall is expected over some higher reaches situated above 2700m.
There is no forecast of any continuous rainfall and it may not even rain in some parts. 
Light rain/snow is expected at a few places in Ladakh. 
Temperature Forecast: 
Maximum temperature in Kashmir valley (for most parts) will stay below 25°C on Sunday and below 22°C on Monday.
In Jammu region, temperature will generally stay below 34°C on Sunday and below 32°C on Monday. 
After the effect of Western Disturbance is over, night temperatures will further drop by 2 – 3°C. 
For Ladakh, temperatures will drop by 3 – 6°C.
Once WD effect is over, temperatures may drop below freezing point (-1 to -3°C) in Leh. 
Cloud Cover Forecast: 
Partly cloudy in morning to generally cloudy in evening on Sunday.
Partly to mostly cloudy weather is expected on Monday.
Sunny breaks in between can also be expected. 
Wind Forecast: 
Sustained wind speed is likely to be slightly above normal. Wind gusts will vary from area to area (depending upon if there is any formation of a thunderstorm), however may not cross 40km/h anywhere.
There were earlier rumors that strong gusty winds up-to 90km/h are expected. *It is completely baseless.* 
Future Weather Forecast: 
Mostly dry weather is expected till 16th October. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect J&K from 17th Oct.
