Govt splits files into 3 Levels for speedy disposal, decisions

JAMMU, Feb 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Government will now have a calendar for filling up of all vacancies in the Government departments in every financial year and the departments have been asked to refer all vacancies by 31st March. The Government has also created three Levels of disposing files under which very important files only will go to the Lieutenant Governor while rest will be disposed of by the Chief Secretary and Administrative Secretaries leading to early disposal of cases.

Official sources told the Excelsior that the Government, in a major decision aimed at helping the unemployed youth, has directed all Government departments to refer all vacancies by 31st March of every year.

All such vacancies will be filled up in a calendar year beginning April 1. All out efforts will be made that the vacancies advertised are filled up in the same year with timelines fixed for written tests and other processes,” they said, adding the unemployed youth aspiring for the Government jobs will be well aware in advance about the vacancies for the year and will prepare themselves accordingly.


However, if some vacancies are to be filled up in emergency mode, they will be an exception, they said, adding number of such vacancies will be bare minimum.

The Government has directed all the departments to undertake exercise for current year immediately to meet the timelines and guidelines/regulations so that all vacancies arising out in the departments are referred by March 31.


“The annual calendar will ensure that vacancies which accrue in the calendar year, are referred to Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board and Public Service Commission, as the case may be immediately after start of the calendar year,” sources said.
